About Shayn

I've been living this stuff my whole life. Shadow people, astral travel, and a wendigo encounter while urban exploring the abandoned Northville Psychiatric Hospital outside Detroit. These aren't just topics I cover, they're things I've experienced firsthand. That is why I ask the questions I ask, and why I never just take the official story at face value.

That curiosity turned into Bizarre Reality Media and three shows. Inquiries of our Reality is the flagship: one guest, one mystery at a time, following the strange wherever it leads. Bizarre Encounters is our research show, where Orin Felix and I dig into the cases, the reports, and the research itself, and talk through what holds up and what doesn't. And Bizarre Inquiries is our monthly live show, mainly our topics, with listener questions finding their way in. You can find all three on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Rumble, and TikTok.

My approach is simple: keep an open mind, but test everything against the evidence. I am a believer with a researcher's questions, and the folks who listen, the Inquirers, are a huge part of it. They send their encounters, questions, and ideas that keep the shows going. We go deeper than the cases, into philosophy and the concepts of reality itself, because the strange is never just about what happened, it is about what it all means.

I am based in Michigan, and I run the Bizarre Society on Patreon, home to the weekly profiles of The Bizarre Report and the Sunday Bizarre News Weekly recap. I also operate a 24/7 hotline for encounter reports. If you have had an encounter, or you want to be a guest, reach me through the contact links on this site.
